At the penultimate stage, Vladimir Samsonov had beaten Cheung Yuk, the player who had caused the shock of the tournament by ousting top seed, China’s Wang Liqin.
Top Seed Succeeds
A second gold of the year for Ma Long, while in the Women’s Singles event it was a first ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Singles title of the year for China’s Li Xiaoxia.
She beat Singapore’s Feng Tianwei in the semis and colleague Guo Yan, seeded two, in the final.
In the semis Guo Yan had beaten Yao Yan, also from China, by the very narrowest of seven game margins.
Men’s Doubles
Two titles for China and there was a third; Chen Qi and Li Ping won the Men’s Doubles crown beating Korea’s Han Ji Min and Lee Jung Woo in the final while in the counterpart female event it was success for Singapore and again disappointment for Korea.
Women’s Doubles
Li Jia Wei and Sun Bei beat Lee Eun Hee and Moon Hyun Jung to win their first ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Doubles title of the year and confirm their top billing on the ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Doubles Standings.
