By Dan Seemiller 190 players participated in the South Shore Sports/ Butterfly Table Tennis Championships on Nov. 14 and 15, 2009. Emad Barsoum, a former national team player from Egypt, won the Open rallying from 2-3 down to defeat Samson Dubina in the final. Joe Cochran and Michael Landers were the semi-finalists.

Michael Landers won the Wasserman Cadet Championships 3-1 over Grant Li. He won $500 with Grant taking the 2nd prize of $200. In the boys 13 and Under Nathan Hsu defeated Perry Wilson to capture the $200 Wasserman prize. In the Cadet girls and 13 and under it was Danielle Mitroi winning the $500. over Brittany Baer.

Joe Cochran won the 2450 event as Emad Barsoum was upset by Fred Cantarelli. Many thanks to South Shore Sports, Butterly Table Tennis and Si Wasserman for his support for the Nate Wasserman Cadet events.
