More than 60 table tennis players participated in the 26th annual Tucson Senior Olympics in January.
The record turnout of 66 participants came from all over the southwest – from Santa Fe to Sierra Vista – to participate in the competition that had 30 events. Forty-six gold medals were awarded.
Dennis Keppen and Donna Lu (both from Sun City) won a combined seven gold medals as Keppen won four. They helped Sun City/Sun City West capture the most gold medals. Tucson came in second with 15.
Don Dickinson and Laura Hinderaker were given the “Power Play’’ Award laureates.
The event was held Jan. 28-29 and held at the Armory Park Senior Center.
The event was sponsored by Southern Arizona Table Tennis Association (SATTA), Tucson Table Tennis Club and Butterfly.
