On the morning of Saturday August 21, 2010, a new chapter in the history of table tennis will be opened, when the first stroke is executed in anger; it will be the start of the table tennis events at the inaugural Olympic Games.

However, prior that notable moment the International Table Tennis Federation will host a Youth Olympic Games Training Camp from Sunday to Tuesday August 15-17, 2010. A total of 16 table tennis tables will be used in the Singapore Hall 5 with two sessions each day for boys and two for girls; each session will last two hours.

Olympic Medalist
Notably, Jean-Philippe Gatien will be present for six of the sessions.

Winner of the Men’s Singles silver medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and one year the World Champion in Gothenburg, he will share his experiences with players and coaches alike.

Attention to Adhesives
A detailed plan the training camp has been put in place with all players having been made totally aware of the regulations with regard to the use of adhesives.
