"What blade and rubber combination do you
recommend for a beginning to intermediate level player?"
"The racket I usually recommend
to beginners (or anybody) is the Primorac with sriver

The Block:
The block is a defensive-posture shot made against heavily spun

They block to keep the ball in play or to set up a point-winning-shot.
Blocking requires good balance and much finesse. When blocking,
keep the bat to the side at contact for a forehand, but directly

The Chop:
The chop is a defensive stroke, used by players who would rather
frustrate or wear down their opponents than overpower them. Through
chopping, a defensive player can impart varying degrees of underspin
to different places on the table. The chop differs from the push
in that, first, you make contact on the descent instead of the ascent
of the ball and, second, you use a much fuller motion and many major
