2020 Chinese National Championship: Fan Tops Men’s Singles

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

The 2020 Chinese National Championships concluded Saturday in Weihai.  As the rounds progressed, the deep field began to narrow until the top players in the world were left.  The final two players in the Men’s event were Fan Zhendong and Ma Long – and it was Fan that prevailed 4-3.  Fan also won the Men’s doubles – showing he is still the world’s best player.

In the Men’s Semifinals, it was Fan over Liang Jingkun 4-1, and Ma Long over Lin Gaoyuan 4-1.

Just as the Men’s World No. 1 swept the men’s events, the Women’s World No. 1 Chen Meng swept the women’s events.  She won the Women’s Singles event and teamed with Wang Manyu to win the Women’s Doubles event.

The ITTF has posted a number of daily highlight videos.  If you are interested in watching some great table tennis action, check out the videos below.
