Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question:
Hi,
I would like to change my rubbers for something slower, but with more control and spin. I am intermediate player, who prefers topspins and not very aggressive style of play

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Jörg Bitzigeio. He is the High Performance Director of USATT.Coach Bitzigeio’s response is as follows:

Hello Matus,

Thanks for your email!

Good to see that you seem to trust the quality of the Butterfly rubbers and I’m sure you will find what you are looking for.

Control and spin are characteristics which in table tennis are very important and necessary as a foundation to play the game. Adding speed and power is always possible on top of this.

For your situation, I would suggest to think about trying the new Butterfly Dignics 05. This rubber offers several different characteristics. It’s the new and improved Spring Sponge X technology with an advanced top sheet. Recommended for a high level, spin oriented offensive game. Dignics 05’s pimple structure provides increased grip with the feel of holding the ball on the rubber on impact and features additional elasticity and spin performance of the highest order.

Good luck and enjoy!

Jörg
