Dusseldorf Masters VI: Duda Does Dusseldorf

Felix Back to Top 5, Duda Reaches Top 20: ITTF Rankings

(by Steve Hopkins)

No movement in the Top Four as Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, Fan Zhendong, and Liang Jingkun hold their positions in that order.  Felix Lebrun is the biggest mover in the Top 10, jumping two spots over Ma Long (now 6) and Hugo Calderano (now 7).  Harimoto, Gaoyuan, and Franziska round out the Top 10.

Truls Moregard is climbing the rankings again – now at No. 11.  Lin Yun Ju is 12th.  Dang Qiu is 13th, the second of four German players in the Top 20.  Alexis Lebrun, Jang Woojin, Darko Jorgic, Benedikt Duda, Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Omar Assar, and Shunsuke Togami are the rest of the Top 20 list.  Duda has had a great series of tournaments and jumped 5 slots this week – moving up to his career best at No. 17.  Of note to American fans, Duda is a teammate of Kanak Jha in the German league, and perhaps both players are benefitting from practicing together.  For Jha, he is hovering at No. 60…  slowly making progress back up the rankings.
