Jha Joins Calderano in Germany

The professional German team TTF LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen has announced the addition of Kanak Jha.  The team has signed the USA’s top player (World No. 22) to join a strong squad that already includes Hugo Calderano (World No. 6) and Simon Gauzy (World No. 19).

Ochsenhausen is a small city in the South of Germany.  It is about halfway between Munich and Zurich, Switzerland.  Despite its small size, the town strongly supports their team.  In 2019, the team won the German Table Tennis Cup, its first cup since 2004.  The addition of Jha as a new resident in the town bolsters the champions as they prepare to defend their title.

In their top three, the team now has Hugo Calderano (the top ranked player in South American and the top ranked non-Asian player in the world), Simon Gauzy (the top ranked player in France and fifth in all of Europe), and Jha (the top ranked player in North America).  This is a great opportunity for Jha, not just to compete against top level players but also to consistently practice against some of the strongest players in the world.

Good luck, Kanak. Or as your new German fans might say,  Viel Erfolg.
