Jingkun Over Alexis Lebrun in Taiyuan

The top half of the draw went about as expected, with the top two seeds in that half, Liang Jingkun and Zhou Qihao reaching the Semifinals.  Korea’s Cho Daessong had two wins before falling in the Quarters, and Chuang Chih-Yuan also scored two wins on his path to the Quarters – but ultimately, the top half was scripted out with the top seeds winning just about every match.

The bottom half of the draw was a whole different story.  USA’s Jinbao Ma upset Yuan Licen in the first round and then topped Wong Chun Ting to reach the Quarters.  Second seed, Lin Gaoyuan had lost to Wong Chun Ting in their first round match, so Jinbao’s run was that much more impressive.  In the same half of the draw, Alexis Lebrun upset Cho Seungmin and Lin Shidong on his way to the Semifinals.   Lee Sang Su eliminated Jinbao Ma 3-2 to reach the Semifinals, however, Alexis Lebrun was too much as he ran away with a 3-0 win.

In the Final, it was Liang Jingkun 4-1 over Alexis Lebrun.
