The Texas Smash are a powerhouse in Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) looking to smack down their competition in the West Division. In the inaugural season, the Smash finished second place in the regular season but won the playoff.  And in the most recent season, they finished with the top regular season record (11-7 with 203 points) and made it to the Final before falling to the Carolina Gold Rush.

The team is lead by their coach, Jörg Bitzigeio, who brings a wealth of experience, including mentoring USA’s top player Kanak Jha.  This year’s team includes Americans Amy Wang and Nandan Naresh, David McBeath of England, Hiromitsu Kasahara of Japan, Joao Monteiro of Portugal, Guodong Liang of China, Seunghwan Oh of South Korea, and Anirban Ghosh of India.

After finishing near the top in each of  previous seasons, the Smash look to maintain their elite form in the upcoming season.  With MLTT’s new TV deal with CBS Sports, the league is reaching a broader audience.  This is the perfect time for this team to make its run for a Championship.
