New York Slice and Koki Niwa on Path to Challenge in MLTT

Retired Japanese star Koki Niwa has officially joined the New York Slice.  The New York Slice are an expansion team in Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), and they will first see action in the 2025-2026 season. Niwa was an elite player on the world tour for over 15 years, winning 70% of his 1000 international matches.  Expect him to be among the top players in the MLTT in the upcoming season.

Niwa joins a roster featuring Tao Wenzhang, Jishan Liang, Amir Hodaei, Haocheng Wang, Kaden Xu, Yiran Wu, and Choi Haeeun.  Collectively, that’s a lot of fire power.  The New York Slice clearly plan to have an immediate impact in the MLTT league – perhaps going from expansion to championship in their first season.  Regardless, of how the season takes shape – they will be serious contender in MLTT’s East Division.
