In the opening match, Tiago Apolonia beat Simon Gauzy 3-2, giving Neu Ulm the advantage. In the second match, Kanak Jha beat Russian Vladimir Sidorenko 3-2. Neu Ulm went up again when Lev Katsman topped Samuel Kulczycki 3-1, but Gauzy beat Sidorenko 3-0 to tie the score again. The match was decided by doubles, and the Polish teammates Kulczycki and Kubic matched up against Apolonia and Katsman and won 3-1 to give Ochsenhausen the win.
Ochsenhausen is now 5-0 and will next play Schwalbe Bergneustadt on Sunday. Bergneustadt is 2-3 and currently in 7th position. So far, the season could not be going better for Ochsenhasen – they lost their top ranked player (Hugo Calderano) when he signed to play in Russia, but Kanak Jha has stepped up to go 6-2 to lead his team in points, and the two young Polish players on the squad (Maciej Kubik and Samuel Kulczycki) are undefeated as a doubles team giving Ochsenhausen an advantage when the singles matches end in a tie.
