Excellent performance by Three10 TTC players at WTT Youth Contender in San Francisco. Four players from Three10 TTC took part in the WTT event in San Francisco.

Three10 TTC players and Coach

The most successful accomplishment was achieved by Cindy Zhu in the U11G event. After winning the group stage, Cindy was able to advance to the final of that event. In the final match each participant gets a chance in the final’s first game.

Cindy saved the first game with a 13:12 timeout. Then she continued to put pressure on her opponent and won the final 3:1. after thrilling and eventually became a Champion of that event. At the next World Ranking, Cindy, currently 25th at U11, might reach the top10. She is planning to participate in the next WTT Youth Contender in Westchester at the end of June which may also contribute points to the World Ranking.

Jessie Xu advanced from the group stage in both of her events – U17 and U19 but was unable to overcome Sally Moyland in the semi-finals of these events. Ruoyan Yang and Jaelen Chen were successful in advancing from the group stage to the main draw in the U15 event but both lost in the round of 16 to the higher ranking players.

In the U19XD mixed doubles, the pair seeded 4th – Jessie Xu and Meech Dullaert from Geng Academy in Ottawa advanced to the semi-finals but lost to the winners of the event.

In U15XD, Ruoyan Yang and Jaelen Chen debuted on the international stage in San Francisco. The pair had a walkover in the round of 32 but they faced tough opponents in the following rounds. Ruoyan and Jaelen unexpectedly won 3/2 in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals. The first match was a true thriller, with 15/13 in the vital fifth game. Unfortunately, the pair lost in the semi-finals to Hildy Chen and Ryan Lin from the US.
