USATT Member? Its Time to Vote

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

If you are a USATT Member, we strongly encourage you to cast your vote for the open Board of Directors position.

USATT members received an email about the election on Monday, November 6 (Titled “USA TT Board Election”) and follow-up emails went out this week. Follow the instructions to cast your vote.  All votes are due by 7pm EST (4pm PST) on December 8, 2023.

Elections are important, and each member of the USATT Board of Directors helps to shape the future of our sport.  The USATT’s election site requires that you enter a code and PIN from the email that USATT has sent to you (each USATT member).  Information about the current USATT Board of Directors is available here.  Board members come from a variety of backgrounds – some with experience in our sport and others without – some who are elected with a particular focus (to represent athletes or clubs, for example).

Those currently running include Derek May  (who was a Butterfly-sponsored player when he played for the US Team and who is currently President of a commercial real estate firm in Georgia),  Alex Figueroa (a table tennis coach and player who has assisted in running large table tennis events and who is active with clubs and leagues in the Los Angeles area), Dennis Taylor (who was a USATT insider for nearly two decades including a previous stint on the Board and then served as USATT’s Board Secretary and Counsel), Dr. Tuan Le (a medical doctor and competitive player that has become a fixture in tournaments in Southern California), and Ludovic Gombos (a CPA with business experience who was an anchor at Texas Wesleyan University as a player).

However you choose to vote, please make sure your voice is heard.
