WAB CLUB FEATURE: Orange County Table Tennis Academy

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

The Orange County Table Tennis Academy (OCTTA) features 10-15 tables, professional flooring, great lighting, plenty of space, and it is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm.  With more than 400 active players, it is the ideal facility to compete or learn.  OCTTA has a weekly Saturday evening Round Robin tournament dividing up the entry fees into prize money to make the competition more interesting.  They offer individual and group lesson opportunities, including weekly beginner lessons on Saturdays.  There are after school programs and summer camps.  The head coach is Zaman Molla, an ITTF certified coach who has competed in major international tournaments like the World Championships and the Asian Cup.  Other coaches include Zhang Xiang Jing and Guo Lu.

The club is located in Fountain Valley just off of the 405 in the center of Orange Country (with Santa Ana and Irvine to the East, and Huntington Beach to the South, and Anaheim to the North).  OCTTA describe themselves as the culmination of an inspired table tennis community who is poised to share an intense passion for a sport with the Orange County community.  OCTTA is led by Dr. Tuan Le and Vu Doan, two table tennis fanatics who are fulfilling their dream of bringing quality table tennis to Orange County. The two are supported by many fervent athletes, amateurs and professional alike. OCTTA offers the highest quality of facilities available and brings together a veteran staff of players and coaches.

Orange County Table Tennis Academy is helping spread table tennis to all ages. By fostering a competitive, fun atmosphere for those in the community interested in the sport, and by providing formal structure and education for children, the OCTTA is elevating the sport on many fronts. Table tennis has been a global sport for years, but it is just now gaining some mainstream attention.  Visit OCTTA and experience our passion for the sport.
