WTT Feeder Westchester: Lily Zhang in Women’s Final Four

A pair of Japanese players made the Semifinals at the WTT Feeder Event Westchester, at the Westchester Table Tennis Club in New York.  Shunsuke Togami will face will face Chuang Chih-Yuan on Sunday in one Semifinal match and Benedikt Duda will face Yuta Tanaka in the other semifinal.  Chuang advanced past Sharon Alguetti in the Round of 16 and past Alvaro Robles in the Quarters.  Togami advanced by topping Eugene Wang (and Wang topped Wenzhang Tao in a tight 4-3 match in the Round of 16).

On the Women’s side, Lily Zhang topped second seeded Chen Szu-Yu to earn her spot in the Semifinals.  Zhang will face Japan’s Asuka Sasao on Sunday.  A pair of Japanese players will face off in the other Semifinal – Haruna Ojio versus Sakura Mori.

The only completed event so far is Mixed Doubles, where Chen Szu-Yu and Chuang Chih Yuan topped France’s Jordy Piccolin and Jamilia Laurenti 3-1.  Lily Zhang and Kai Zhang fell in the Semis to Piccolin/Jamilia so they will finish in third.  The Men’s and Women’s Doubles Finals will be held on Sunday afternoon – Amy Wang and Jiangshan Guo have reached the Final – and will face Asuka Sasao and Sakura Mori.
