The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships (WTTC) 2025 in Doha captivated fans across the globe. In this three-part series, we will introduce Butterfly’s initiatives at the event.

Following last year’s success at the World Table Tennis Championships 2024 in Busan, Butterfly was once again invited by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) to present a special gift to guests on the final day of the ITTF Summit during this year’s event.

As the global table tennis community joins forces in pursuit of a sustainable future for the sport, we are pleased to share the story behind our efforts and the values that inspired this initiative.

A Symbol of Trust ‐ Advancing Sustainability at the WTTC

Last year, we proposed the idea that the World Table Tennis Championships could be an opportunity to highlight sustainability within our sport. Our “Sustainability Gift”, created using surplus materials from the racket manufacturing process, was well received. Encouraged by this positive feedback, we were once again asked by the ITTF to contribute this gift for this year’s event.
This gift, a crafting kit for the miniature racket, is an item that Butterfly has proudly presented in various settings.

Once again this year, the gift we presented was warmly received by ITTF officials with smiles. They expressed their gratitude by saying, “Thank you for another wonderful gift, just like last year.”
Our gift was recognized not only as a souvenir, but also a symbol of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.

Memories of Qatar in a Special Gift Kit
This year’s gift, the crafting kit for Butterfly’s miniature racket, was made from surplus materials and is part of our broader sustainability efforts.

To make it even more special this year, we added the instruction card, which used the color of Qatar’s national flag, as a keepsake of the Doha Championships.

At the Butterfly Party, we also distributed coasters made from surplus materials to attendees, allowing more people to learn about and engage with our sustainability initiatives.

Our Mission as a Global Brand – Toward a Sustainable Future for Table Tennis

Through this initiative, we once again witnessed the strong interest and awareness of environmental issues among members of the global table tennis community.
Butterfly remains committed to promoting environmentally conscious efforts in collaboration with working groups from organizations such as the ITTF and Federation of International Table Tennis Manufacturers (FIT).
