WTTC Interviews: Suthasini Sawettabut

1. You were playing very well against Mima Ito and really close to win. Ito commented you had no problem with her pimples rubbers. What do you think of the match when you look back.

It was a good match for me even I cannot win. Actually, I had an opportunity to win this match but I missed many important points at the end of the many games and Ito kept pressuring me very well. Pimples rubber was not a problem in this match as well as her service. After the match I felt regret that I cannot win but when I look back I think I already make a great job compare to last result in Olympic games with Ito.

2. General question about WTTC in this time. It was first time that WTTC was held in USA. What do you think the whole tournament in Houston? Is there different atmosphere compare to other tournament at Europe and Asia?

I feel that this tournament is unique from other tournament in Europe and Asia. WTTC is an important tournament and many spectators are interesting to see the competition. The atmosphere in the main hall is fantastic and crowded with spectators. Normally, I never feel this feeling in Europe tournament or Asia. There were many spectators came to support me after the match which was a good feeling and memories.

3.What do you think of the whole tournament?
Like you and Adriana Diaz, we can see not only strong Asian Countries but also variety of players from different countries had good results in this tournament. What do you think about it?

I think now table tennis become more global sport and many countries are focusing to develop table tennis. As you can see that many Europe countries are better than before and they also have a medal in this WTTC.

4. Your future goal
Your Japanese fans are expecting you to come and play T league match. Please make a comment for Japanese fans.

I’m looking forward to play in T-league again. I will try my best to perform well in T-league for my team and my Japanese fans. Thank you again for all support from Japanese fans and I hope to see everyone soon in Japan.
