Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Blade: Early 1970’s Mark V
Forehand: Original, needs replacement
Backhand: Original, needs replacement

Question: I played at a fairly high level in college 40 years ago and have recently returned to the sport. I have an offensive game, which is rusty but the strokes are still there. I’d like some advice on which rubbers to choose for my old Mark V blade.

Answer: Hi Tom,

70’s Mark V is out dated. Not good to play today’s 40+ plastic balls.

Suggest to use Zhang Jike Super ZLC as your blade. Please use Tenergy 05 red, 2.1 rubber for your forehand, Tenergy 05 FX black, 2.1 rubber for your backhand.

Suggest you should find a coach help you the modern technique to handle the 40+ plastic balls. Watch recent coaching and competition video will also help.

Practice well, enjoy TT.
