Question:

Im wondering on which rubbers I should pair with my new Viscaria blade, now I always used a nittaku acoustic. I first played with fxp in my backhand which I actually liked looking back at it cause it was nice soft and have me safety en dwell time and arc which I really need in my backhand. I’m my forehand I first played with a aurus select and now with a nittaku fastarc g1 but I came to find that I need to be very active for this rubber and I think I’m not good enough for it caus I’m not as consistent with it as I normally am.

So now I will try to explain my level;

My playing level is around 1600 point but it’s in Belgium so I will explain my level.

I can comfortably do the third ball attack most off the times however with my backhand its more like for opening the play cause I don’t have a hard or strong backhand topspin it’s more like with a arc and soft topspin with spin lets say more slow. My forehand topspin I can play how I like strong hard, more softer with control when I’m a bit late for the ball. I can coubtertopspin pretty easy from second position however in first position it goes over the table a lot off the times. I can counter loop from second position with players at a lever of 2200 points I can win those counter topspin rally’s a lot off the time actually.

Now my question is what I should pair with my new viscaria cause I need some safety in my backhand for opening and I don’t want to go to fast in my forehand cause the G1 right now also feels too hard for me max thickness.

I would like your suggestion.

Thanks, in advance

Answer:

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your question.

I think the Viscaria is a soft blade, so try to use a slightly harder rubber for the backhand, such as Dignics 64.

Dignics 64 has good elasticity and is very fast. It will be a good match with Viscaria.

Best wishes!

Jeffrey Zeng
