Cadet Boys Team Final Captivates All
By the end of the day, what seemed like the entire gym had gathered to watch Team BC and Team Quebec battle for the gold medal in the Cadet Boys Category.
Andy Chan (BC) and Steve Wang (BC) first overcame Jerome Martel (QC) and Simeon Martin (QC) 3-1 in the commencing doubles match.
In a nail biting 3-2 match, Edward Ly (QC) painstakingly overcame Edison Huang (BC) in a series of impressive rallies. Each was never ahead more than a point but it was Ly who ultimately won the fifth game, setting the score at 1-1.
The crowd held their breath as Andy Chen (BC) and Simeon Martin (QC) took to the court. Martin fought valiantly but it was Chen who edged out on top, winning 18-16 in the third and last game.
Finally, Edison Huang (BC) prevailed against Jerome Martel (QC) 3-1, securing a gold medal for Team BC.
Tomorrow sees the commencement of doubles events.
