Early Action Underway at the US Nationals

Action started Saturday in Ontario, California in the 2025 rendition of the US National table Tennis Championships.  Kanak Jha, will be the top seed in Men’s Singles – he has a bye into the Round of 32.  The other players with Main Draw byes in Men’s Singles include Nishant Lebaka, Xiang Jing Zhang, Sid Naresh, Nikhil Kumar, Nandan Naresh, Ved Sheth, and Jishan Liang.  The top seed in Women’s Singles is Amy Wang, and the other top seeds include Jessica Reyes-Lai, Tiffany Ke, Tashiya Piyadasa, Kayla Goodwin, Abigail Yu, and Sally Moyland.

Eight hundred and fifty players are signed up to compete in 113 events.  The premier events are Hsing Family Foundation Men’s Singles, Hsing Family Foundation Women’s Singles, Hsing Family Foundation U-21 Men’s Singles, and Hsing Family Foundation U-21 Women’s Singles.  There are also 10 Boys and Girls Singles Events (U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13, and U-11) and an additional 17 events for older participants with age groupings of 30& Over up to 85 & Over.  There are also 40 Doubles Events, Open, Adult, and Junior Rating Events, a series of Wasserman Classic Events, a Parkinson event and 7 Para events.

So far, only one event has concluded – the Over 85 Singles with Rich Norton, Martin Sundel, William Farrar, and Seng Der Lee finishing first through fourth.  As the week goes on, expect to see America’s best competing in a variety of events, with many of our top players fighting in several different events.  One of our sport’s premier events.  ButterflyOnline.com will keep you updated throughout.
