In this series, Messages From Paris, we share some interesting interviews made during The 2013 World Table Tennis Championships, that were held in Paris.

Stefan Feth, the current U.S. Men’s National Team Coach & Head Coach at the World Champions Table Tennis Academy in Santa Clara, during this video explains why he feels that commitment & focus are some of the most important characteristics in a young table tennis player to develop into a successful senior.

Stefan Feth was a German National Team Player from 1991 to 2006 (from Cadet, Junior to the Senior National Team). He was the German & European Junior Champion in 1997, the German U21 Champion in 2001… He continued to have a successful professional table tennis career, but decided to retire as a player and switch his focus to coaching at a young age of 26.

Since then he has been coaching in the United States of America and has won numerous awards. He was the 2011, 2012 & 2013 USATT Development Coach of the Year & the 2016 USATT Coach Of The Year. He was also the 2012 US Men’s Olympic Coach.
