Calderano, Gauzy, and Jha Among Movers in Latest Rankings

(by Steve Hopkins, photo WTT)

Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin remain No. 1 and No. 2 this week, but on the strength of his World Cup victory, Hugo Calderano has jumped up to No. 3.  Lin Gaoyuan has fallen out of the Top 10, dropping 8 spots to No. 17.  The rest of the Top 15 are basically unchanged except for sliding up or down a spot in relation to bigger moves by Calderano and Gaoyuan.  Harimoto is 4th, then Jingkun, Felix Lebrun, Moregard, Franziska, Alexis Lebrun and Dang Qiu.  USA’s Kanak Jha has moved up four spots to No. 29.  Simon Gauzy has jumped up 10 spots to No. 45.

On the Women’s Side, little has changed in the top 15 except for some shuffling.  Sun Yingsha has accumulated an amazing lead – with 11,300 ranking points.  Second is Wang Manyu with 7200.  Chen Xingtong is now third, jumping over Wang Yidi who is now fourth. Kuai Man jumped up two spots to No. 5 – so China holds the top five positions. Miwa Harimto, Hina Hayata, Satsuki Odo, and Mima Ito are now four Japanese players in a row.  And the No. 10 player is Shin Yubin of Korea.  Bruna Takahashi of Brazil is the only other big mover near the top of the Women’s Rankings.  She has moved up 8 spots to No. 16, just ahead of Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico (at 17).  USA’s Lily Zhang is down one spot to No. 26.
