Your Ask the Experts question was answered by Yangyang Jia. Coach Jia is a table tennis coach on YouTube and her response is as follows:

Dear Faisal,

Thanks for reaching out to me. We are always here for you and willing to answer any of your table tennis questions.

First of all, Timo Boll T5000 blade is an update on Butterfly’s classic Carbon Series. It has lots of power perfect for the power attacker. It features a large sweet spot, hard feel, and produces tons of power for point winning loops and smashes. I believe that in order to master the Timo Boll T5000 blade, you will need to have large strokes and try to use your body, waist and legs to release your power instead of only using your arm. This blade is good for speed, spin and power. It is the blade for an totally aggressive player who wants to unleash his/her power with strong shots and hard topspin from middle distance. While, control would be a less feature compares to its power and speed. But you could try to match some rubbers that are prefect for control.

It will match with any of Butterfly’s High Tension rubbers, I would suggest you to try Dignics or Tenergy series rubbers, like Tenergy 05Tenergy 64Tenergy 80 or Dignics 05Dignics 64Dignics 80. Or Rozena would be a good choose if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. But for your special request: you don’t want too fast and expect to get more control and flex touch, I would say Tenergy 05 or Dignics 05 may be a perfect match for you. Because 05 is more spin and less speed, less power than 64 and 80. It would give you more control feeling.

Good luck with your table tennis. Hope my suggestion would be helpful to you. Please let us know your feedback, we’d love to hear back from you. Thanks again for your support.

 Best Regards,

 Yangyang
