See You in Tokyo: ITTF Announces Teams Confirmed

The ITTF announced the teams for the Tokyo Olympics.  Ninety three players will take part with 16 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams ready to compete.

China leads the way in the Men’s event with Fan Zhendong, Xu Xin, and Ma Long (World No. 1, 2, and 3).  Japan will have Harimoto, Niwa and Mizutani.  Germany will have Boll, Ovtcharov, and Franzisca.  The USA will compete with Kanak Jha, Nikhil Kumar, and Zhou Xin.

China leads the Women’s event as well with Chen Meng, Sun Yingsha, and Liu Shiwen (all three having been World No. 1).  Japan will be the second seed with Mima Ito, Kasumi Ishikawa, and Miu Hirano.  Team USA’s entry consists of Lily Zhang, Liu Juan, and Wang Hujing.
