Butterfly Players Shine at the 2025 US National Table Tennis Championships

The 2025 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships is one of the premiere annual events in this country.  This year, Butterfly players were on the podium in many of the events.  Here are some of the elite Butterfly performances.

Kanak Jha and Sally Moyland left as winners of the headline events: Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles.  Sally Moyland, whose five-medal performance included first place finishes in Women’s Singles, U21 Women’s Singles, and U19 Girls Singles and Mixed Doubles as well as a second-place finish in Women’s Doubles.  For Jha, this was an affirmation that he is still America’s best player – and for Moyland, she is forefront to TeamUSA’s future.

Nandan Naresh emerged as one of the tournament’s most decorated athlete, collecting six medals including a first in U21 Men’s Singles, seconds in Men’s Singles and U19 Boys Singles and Men’s Doubles, and thirds in Mixed Doubles and U19 Boys Doubles.

Kef Noorani, Darryl Tsao, and Irene Yeoh all secured five medals.  Kef Noorani scored gold in U15 Boys’ Singles and U17 Mixed Doubles, and he added three bronze as well.  Darryl Tsao took four national titles— U19 Boys, U2600, U19 Boys Doubles, and U19 Mixed Doubles, plus a bronze in U21 Men’s Singles.  Irene Yeoh was force in both junior and women’s events, winning U17 Mixed Doubles, U15 Girls Doubles, and adding three third-place finishes.

Tiana Piyadasa emerged as a standout in the younger divisions with four medals: first in U13 Girls Singles, and thirds in U15 Girls Singles, U13 Girls Doubles, and U13 Mixed Doubles. Similarly, Chirag Pradham swept U13 Boys Singles and Doubles, and reached the podium in both mixed and U15 events.  Other four-medal achievers included Anagha Kasichainula who a first in U13 Girls Doubles, a pair of seconds in U15 Girls Doubles and U13 Mixed Doubles, and a third in U13 Girls’ Singles.  Jacob Kordus had a first place finish in U11 Boys Doubles, two seconds in U11 Boys Singles, and U13 Boys Doubles, and a third place in U11 Mixed Doubles, Alex Luo won U17 Boys Singles and U19 Boys Doubles and added another doubles second and third, and Daniel Tran pair of doubles seconds in Men’s Doubles and U19 Mixed Doubles, and a pair of thirds in U19 Boys Doubles and U21 Men’s Singles.

Among others making waves was Jaden Jia who landed three junior medals, Saivaishnav Senthikumar who secured U11 Boys Singles gold, and added two other medals in doubles, and Ryan Lin, Kevin Doyle, and Genelia William each earned multiple podium finishes in U17 and U19 play.  Tanish Mamidyala added a silver in U13 Boys Singles, Ewan Zhang finished third in U2000 Juniors, and Victor Xie, Yahraj Shah, Anav Gupta, and Isabella Xu, all captured important third-place finishes in highly competitive divisions.

From the youngest divisions to the premiere events, Butterfly players had the spotlight at this year’s Nationals.  The story is more than just the medal count  – performing one’s best at this important event shows great preparation, and talent – and for these players it also highlights a bright future.
