Jessie Xu Qualifies to Represent Canada at Two Major International Table Tennis Events in 2025

(by Bowmar Sports)

From April 25 to 27, 2025, Jessie Xu competed in the national selection tournament for the upcoming Junior Pan American Games and the Pan American Youth Championship, held at My Table Tennis Club in Mississauga, Ontario. The event brought together 54 of Canada’s top young table tennis athletes from across the country in the U13, U15, and U19 age categories.
After a series of intense and competitive matches, Jessie distinguished herself with her skill, focus, and determination. She was selected as one of only two female players who will represent Team Canada at the Junior Pan American Games, scheduled to take place in Asunción, Paraguay from August 9 to 23, 2025. The Junior Pan American Games is a prestigious multi-sport event held every four years, featuring over 4,000 athletes competing in 28 sports from across the Americas this year.
In addition, Jessie earned a spot at the Pan American Youth Championship, which will be held in Rosario, Argentina from August 24 to 31, 2025. This marks her fifth consecutive year, since the age of 13, representing Canada at the Pan American level in the U15/U19 category—an impressive milestone. Over the years, she has earned four medals at previous Pan Am Youth events and has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and sportsmanship.
Jessie is no stranger to international competition. In 2023, at the age of 15, she had the opportunity to represent Canada at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where she was selected as one of three female table tennis athletes following a national qualification process. It was her first global international appearance at the senior level, offering valuable experience on one of the sport’s most prominent stages.
As Jessie prepares for another exciting summer of elite international play, she continues to inspire with her dedication, growth, and composure under pressure. Canada will be proudly cheering her on as she takes the stage at two of the most important youth table tennis events of the year.
