WAB Club Feature: Ly Table Tennis Academy

(by Steve Hopkins)

Located in the LaSalle borough of Montreal, in the south-west portion of the Island of Montreal along the Saint Lawrence river, is the Ly Table Tennis Academy.  LYTTA has 8 quality tables and is aimed at players of all levels.  The club is designed with table tennis in mind as it has great lighting, dark blue walls, and blue rubber flooring. LYTTA’s quality facility is great for all levels of play.  The free play sessions allow competition or fun in a relaxed environment.

For those looking to improve, there are private lesson options with quality coaches.  This one-on-one coaching can aid players as they look to fix a problem in their game, as they prepare for an important competition, or as they look to achieve other personal goals.   Several members of the Junior National Team and the Provincial Team train at the club regularly.  Players at the LYTTA facility have similar conditions to what they will experience at international competitions. Coaches play at a high level and can act simultaneously as training partner and coach during lessons. Just the presence of qualified coaches and great training partners ensures training for all is at the highest level.

Youth development programs are available for juniors.  Whether they are new to the sport and would like to start competing, or if they are more advanced, the development programs are designed to develop techniques and introduce young players to different tactical concepts.  Of course, all youth programs also focus on fun.

The Ly Table Tennis Academy has been home to many members of the Canadian Junior national team and provincial team. LYTTA offers quality training sessions up to the highest of levels to help even the strongest players perfect their game.
