Lily Zhang won her match on Monday to advance to the Round of 16 in Paris.  Her hard-fought win over Bruna Takahashi (World No. 20) was her first time topping the Brazilian star.  The match score was 4-2: 8, 7, -9, -8, 8, 8.

Next up for Lily is Shin Yubin of Korea – World No. 8.  That match is scheduled for later today. There are no easy matches from this point forward as the draw is filled with the World’s best – If Lily wins, she will could face Miu Hirano and then Chen Meng before reaching the Medal Rounds.

Amy Wang fell in the round of 32 to Adriana Diaz on Monday.  Adriana then fell 4-3 to Pyon Song Gyong of North Korea.
